Blind Ambition

Someone better tell Jessica Simpson not to count her chickens before they hatch. The pop star-turned-"actress" has been going around town saying that she's starring in an upcoming movie, Blonde Ambition, with Luke Wilson, which apparently isn't the case, according to MSNBC. It all started back in September when Jess started complaining that she was "preparing" herself for November, when tabloid covers would undoubtedly link her to Wilson when the flick would begin filming. And just last week, while doing press for Employee of the Month, Jess told Jimmy Kimmel, "I'm going into doing another movie with Luke Wilson called Blonde Ambition!" Not so, Luke's rep told Star: "This project is in talks." But another source told the magazine, "Luke Wilson will never do a movie with Jessica Simpson." It comes as no surprise that the culprit behind all of this is likely none other than Joe Simpson. "Joe is telling Jessica he's getting big stars," the source says. "Joe's been working on it for months. It'll end up having a bunch of nobodies if it happens. He was trying to get Meg Ryan to be the Sigourney Weaver character. It's such a joke. He's been sending out half-written scripts with personal letters to stars asking them to be in it." Ouch. Sounds like Joe's set-ups for on-screen and off-screen partners (ahem, John Mayer) are totally off key.
