Something you can dream of.
Shiny Toy Guns are aiming for fame (and hitting their target dead-on)!
Celebrity gossip can either make or break your career. But in the case of Shiny Toy Guns, it's definitely helped this L.A. quartet to become the most buzzed about band out there. See, back when Paris Hilton's album dropped, rumors swirled around the blogosphere that STG singer, Carah Faye Charnow, was actually singing in debut single, "Stars Are Blind," (For the record, we think the voice in the song sounds nothing like Carah.) But this media storm couldn't have brought better luck for the band, who weathered the bad rep like champs and earned themselves a lot of new listeners. Check this interview with Carah and keyboardist, Jeremy Dawson, and you'll be their next fan!
Do you guys have any idea how the Paris Hilton rumor got started?
Jeremy: Carah did a lot of work as a vocalist during the creation of the band, just like what a lot of pro vocalists do. People would call in and say, "Hey, I have a pop song," and Carah would go and sing. There was a guy who was working on something that could've been Paris' album, and she did a bunch of vocals for it. That was literally all that was. None of the songs that the guy wrote for Paris were accepted. That was the only connection. This was the furthest thing away from the truth you could ever have, to be honest.
