Just got back from my US radio promo tour. It has been the craziest month for me so far. I went to different radio stations all across the US to introduce myself, tell them about my story, and play them my record!
In the beginning it felt really strange. It was like standing in front of a classroom doing a presentation about myself. But once I started to get the hang of it, it was easier and even fun!
We started off in New York. The first radio station I visited was Z100. Then we were off to Philadelphia where I performed the acoustic version of "Outta Here" on morning show, Good Morning Philly. After that, we started traveling through Middle America.
Some days, we were on a plane two times a day... and not to transfer LOL!! It seems so funny that it actually took longer to get everywhere than to actually be there and do the interviews. The tour ended in LA what better radio station to end it with than KIIS FM! I was so excited! I got to meet JoJo and be on the air with him for an hour. He was such a nice guy, I even taught him some Dutch. I loved his southern accent.
When I was in LA, I also did a showcase for my record label at Henson Studios. It was really exciting to show everybody from the label what I have been up to and perform live for them. Justin introduced me, and we started talking about some of the songs on the album. Then I sang five songs from the album with my band. It felt so good to perform again! I thought that the people from the label were gonna be a tough crowd since they are so used to having famous and amazing artists perform for them, but I actually saw some people bobbing their heads and singing along. It felt like they were really into it.
On the same trip, I shot my second music video... for the next single, which will be "Admit It!" Since I wrote this song, I really envisioned the video a certain way. It's a fun and flirty song, and I wanted that to show in the video as well. So my friend and I just started writing the storyline for the video and gave it to the video director, Kenneth Cappello. He did an amazing job capturing all of it. I don't wanna tell you guys too much about it... still want it to be a surprise ;-) but here are some pictures to share with you.
I see how long this is getting and I have so much to tell you guys, but I will leave that for the next blog!
More exciting news to come!!
Big kiss,
Esmée
