Cover Girl's Caterpillars

Hey Alloy!
I have a few more stories from the road for you. We've been having such an awesome tour, and this past week, we played in some of my favorite cities. One of those cities was the fabulous city of Chicago (I named a song on my first record for it!). I got to sneak a little shopping in, although the day was packed with a lot of press and radio and meetings. We played at Park West, which was incredible and such an amazing venue. The crowd was unbelievable, and I have to say that this show may have been the first legit time that people were crowd surfing at a Kate Voegele gig. Totally awesome.

I got to see a lot of friends and explore the city a bit after the show, so it was an all around great time.

That weekend, we played Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Pontiac, Michigan which were both really fun gigs as well. I spent a day in Dearborn, Michigan hanging with everyone from Ford Driving Skills for Life, which is a really cool program devoted to safe driving and creating awareness about it. The next day, we gathered our passports and headed to Toronto! It was a crazy long day but couldn't have been more fun. We woke up super early to shoot another section of the music video for the single "99 Times," with Frank Borin. This time, the band got to be in the video, and we did some live shots of us playing the song in front of a green screen. So much fun.

After the video shoot, I had to get straight to a photo shoot for the cover of a Canadian magazine called Lou Lou. It's a really cool fashion magazine and I'm so excited to be on the cover!! I had the BEST time trying on clothes, doing hair and makeup, and playing around with different shots for the article. Everyone from Lou Lou was so cool and really fun to work with. The article will be in the September issue, so look out for me on the cover if you'll be up in Canada at all!

Later that night, we played at the Mod Club for a huge crowd and had a great show. The next day was another exciting one because we were in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio! It was so amazing to see my family and friends, and I even got to bring my dog McDuff on the bus to hang out and explore. It was also great to play a few more dates in Ohio last week in Cincinnati and Columbus.

Saturday, we played in Pittsburgh, PA, where we finally got some beautiful weather! I have family and friends there as well, so I had a great time catching up with them. Also, our merch guy Quinn found two caterpillars outside the bus in the parking lot of the venue and made them a 'habitat' in old Tupperware containers. They're now our bus pets. He named them Big Bear and Mummy, and I have no idea why. But they're awesome. Haha. So I wasn't allowed to bring my family dog on the road, but at least we have pet caterpillars now...

My new album, A Fine Mess, is available now, and I'm so excited! Make sure to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by. More soon, Alloy!
