Living the Dream

Hey Everybody,
Hope you all have had a great week! I just got back home from another day at the studio. Got up VERY early, in the dark, as a matter of fact. As I was in the makeup trailer, to the dismay of our great crew, it started to rain. They had to carry all the equipment and gear from one stage to the other through the falling rain, which couldn't have been fun! At least I could just open my umbrella and move along...

Anyways, this last week I found myself at the Jonas Brothers movie premiere in Hollywood. I must say it was totally crazy! While I was doing interviews on the red carpet, I could barely hear myself at all over the thousands of fans that had come to greet the JoBros (as well as some of us I hope)! It was really a great night and very exciting, to say the least!

Later in the week, Mark Derwin (my TV dad), Daren Kagasoff (Ricky) and I attended a middle school in the Los Angeles area to speak to the students about careers and what it is like for us to actually be working at our dream jobs. We were asked a lot of interesting questions pertaining to our work, what we enjoyed about it, and if we had advice to anyone who had dreams of becoming an actor. All I could say to that was that I felt very fortunate to have gotten an opportunity to do what I am doing because I love acting and I love movies. I really wouldn't want to do anything else even if I had not gotten a role on Secret Life. I guess when you really love something enough you go on no matter what happens or doesn't. I feel like I won the lotto sometimes!

But I did work hard and I was rejected quite a lot, but I just kept going. I guess that would be my advice to anybody as well as myself: KEEP TRYING! Also, I finished off the week doing a photo shoot with my mother, Olivia Hussey (Romeo & Juliet). That was fun! We did it for an upcoming article in Ladies Home Journal about mothers and daughters in the entertainment business. I'm not sure when it will come out but probably in the next few months.

Well, that's about it for this week. Oh, lastly, I just discovered my computer screen got a hole poked in it... Oh what a drag... Guess I won't be checking out anything online for a couple of days... For all of you with computers, take good care of them! They cost just toooo much to fix!

Bye for now.
See ya next time!
