Go a Little Greener

Before the clock strikes 12, here’s a list of must-do’s before you ring in the New Year! Countdown to 2008 with a new tip everyday on Alloy!

Christmas trees. Mistletoe. Garland. There’s a lot of color hanging around these days to remind us to go green. It’s the most popular phrase right now, but we think you can actually make this trend into an everyday habit.

Here are 3 easy things you could do today:
• Unplug it! When you leave your room, unplug chargers, TVs, stereos, etc. Some electronics can use up to 50 percent of the power they’d use when turned on!
• Carpool to school! Do you really need to drive solo everyday? Get a group of girls together and save the environment and on gas. You can cut four cars rolling into school down to one.
• Buy a cute bag! Get a big bag for shopping. Use it instead of getting tons of throw-away bags from the mall and grocery store.
