Heyyy!
So, guess what? I got in all my applications the other day! My dad I and just sat down for a couple hours filling out all the information and now, they are all in! Well, except for one college, who doesn’t accept CommonApp (which btw is pretty annoying, but whatever). I’m so relieved that part is over and it wasn’t half as bad as it seemed.
It probably made it a little easier because I had my essay done, and I really only had to write about my activities as an extra. I wrote about hockey. Also, Emerson College asked me to give a title to my life and explain why. It took me a little while to think of one, but I ended up writing about how my life should be titled “Change is Good." They really just want to see your creative side.
I know applications are not due until around January, but if you send them in early, they can look at them right away, and maybe even get back to you sooner. So now I’m playing the waiting game. For all you people who applied early, you get to find out December 15!! Ahh that’s so exciting.
Word of encouragement: Don’t absolutely freak out if you get rejected -- it has happened to millions before us and it will happen to millions after us. I know it’s been said before, but being rejected is not the end of the world! We are all going to get into fabulous colleges and have the time of our lives, so don’t waste time because you didn’t get into a few schools you applied to. It’s not because they didn’t like you or because you’re “dumb,” it’s just that colleges across the nation get sooo many applications a year, so they couldn’t possibly accept everyone!
Also, if you don't get into the college of your choice, you can always transfer at some point! When I find out about my own colleges, I’m obviously going to be bummed out if I don’t get into one of them, but seriously, I’ll eat some chocolate and get over it. Haha.
So get those applications in! Don’t forget to get in the supplements as well! As I wait to get those thin and thick envelopes back, I don’t think I’ll even have time to stress because hockey started! Yay for getting up at 5 in the morning for hockey, and then dragging myself to school! Haha. I’ll definitely take some pictures of our crazy locker room for you guys next week!
