Hey everyone!
I'm Devin (the blondie on the right in that pic!), and I'll be writing to you guys the next few months about applying to college…if that’s OK with you. :) When anyone thinks about applying, they automatically begin to stress, but no worries, this blog will be painless! Check back right here every week for fun new entries, and get to know my friends and me. Also, I'll be giving you tips about the whole college application process…while I figure it out myself!
So, about me! I'm 17 and I go to a private, all-girl's school…which is a bummer sometimes. However, because it’s small, our senior class is really close. My friends are awesome -- we are constantly cracking jokes and having a fun. Sometimes drama happens, but we are old enough to not make big deals out of stupid fights.
Favorite way to spend a Saturday? I love getting together with a bunch of people and playing mini golf, going bowling, or hanging in my basement to watch movies. I also play hockey for my school, which BTW is probably the best sport I have ever tried!! My hockey team is so crazy (in a good way haha). Between locker room sing-a-longs, and getting up for 6 a.m. practices before school, we have a good time. We also eat a TON, and find any excuse to bring cupcakes and cookies to our games. Even though we aren't allowed to 'check' people, it gets pretty rough out on the ice. Some teams insist on playing dirty, but I'm proud to say that my team never has.
What else can I tell you….OH! I have an older sister who is a sophomore at Boston College, which is where I would loveee to go. The campus is gorgeous, and there's always something fun to do. Confession time: I'm really nervous about going far away to school, so other colleges that I'm interested in would be Fairfield, Holy Cross, Loyola Maryland, and Canisius.
So here’s my first official application tip: I highly suggest taking an SAT course – I’m taking one right now. They guarantee to raise your score 200 points! There are all sorts of ones that you can sign up for, but my course is one-on-one for a couple hours each Saturday morning. It's pretty laidback, and it's definitely helpful that my tutor is an absolute studddd. :)
Ok, I gotta run, but keep coming back here for more updates and leave comments for me below! Talk to you girlies later.
