How Do You Feel About Our New President?
It's official. With 349 electoral votes, Barack Obama is the 44th president of our country. After eight years of republican victory, it was the democrats' turn to celebrate on Tuesday.
"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer," Obama said Tuesday night.
"It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election in this defining moment, change has come to America." he added.
Twenty minutes after the polls closed on the West Coast, John McCain gave his concession speech. He graciously said that he would support the new president and added, "It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again."
