Who Won The Debate?

The first debate aired September 26 and 52.4 million viewers tuned in to watch Barack Obama and John McCain duke it out. Did you catch it?

The focus of the debate was on foreign policy and national security, but due to the recent financial crisis, the debate took a detour and the candidates focused on the economy for the first 40 minutes.

Poll results revealed that voters preferred McCain over Obama when it came to making decisions involving Iraq and terrorism. But Obama outshined McCain when the economy was discussed.

The democratic party declared a win for Obama saying he held his ground when foreign policy was discussed. Republicans said McCain won and explained that Americans ultimately want a commander in chief with experience.
