Abstinence advocacy groups like "True Love Waits" and "Silver Ring Thing" preach the importance of waiting to have sex.
Joe Jonas, who also wears the ring, says to Details magazine that he and his brothers view the rings as "promises to ourselves and to God that we'll stay pure till marriage."
