What Boosts Your Confidence?

It's no secret that playing sports is beneficial. But besides obvious perks like fitness and team building, it can actually boost your self confidence. A recent study found that girls who play sports are more confident and have higher self-esteem compared to inactive teens. Whether you're shooting hoops, cheering on the sidelines or playing lacrosse, the results are positive.

"I have so much more confidence now that I have been on a team," said a lacrosse participant in a recent news article. A fellow lacrosse teammate added, "You're learning skills here that you can carry out throughout your whole life."

The team organizer felt that girls were under represented in high school sports teams. "I think having a team of girls that care about each other and spend time together encourages them to make positive decisions," the organizer said.
