It's the end of summer, and BFFs Marnie Fitzpatrick and Nola James are about to start high school. While bubbly Marnie is stoked, shy Nola is totally nervous about the change. And boy, do things change! Marnie is determined to join the IN crowd (led by gorgeous hipster girl, Lizette), but Nola doesn't see what the big deal is about. On top of that, Marnie develops a hardcore crush on school hottie, Dane, while Nola isn't ready to get involved with boys -- not even the geeky-cute guy she's diggin'. With the girls' differences tearing them apart, will their friendship go OUT the window forever?
