Girls Get On Board

Lauren Perkins is only 17 years old, but she's one of the best up-and-coming female skaters in the world! At the age of 8, the self-professed tomboy taught herself to skate when a skate park was built in her 'hood. By 12, she beat out 45 boys to win first place in the Gravity Games amateur contest. A year later, she snatched first place at the All Girls Skate Jam -- where she competed against some of skateboarding's top female pros!
