I didn't go because I asked a girl I had a crush on, and she said, "No chance." So I just stayed in and I probably learned some riff from a Guns N' Roses record or something. I think it was better that I didn't go to prom. I think feeling alienated and feeling like an outsider was important in my songwriting process.
