This guy asked me out. We have everything in common, and he's really cute and nice -- but he has really bad style. I don't wanna be shallow and not date him because of that, but it's embarrassing! How can I hint that he needs a makeover?
When you first start dating someone, it's important to get to know that person for who they are. A lot of times, personal wardrobe is a way of expressing ourselves. Now, if he just doesn’t know what to wear, make some subtle hints -- ask him to go to the mall with you, walk into the men’s section, and suggest a shirt of your particular taste. Certain things like that might help him become more conscious of his wardrobe. At a certain point though, there's a limit to how much you should do to change a person’s clothing choice. He sounds like a good guy aside from the bad style, so maybe that's something that can be overlooked. Sometimes when special people come in to your life, they aren’t always wrapped in perfect packages -- you have to see beyond the cover. Accept him for the cute, nice, interesting guy that you liked him for in the first place!
