Previously on Ugly Betty…

Betty was pumped about her writing class, but it turns out to be way more difficult that she thought! First, she gets nicknamed "Clappy" by her grouchy professor when she applauds a classmate's short story. Then, her teacher scratches his nails across the board (eek!) and tells the class their stories should be grittier and more painful. Suffice to say, Betty's worried that her PG-rated story about staying home on prom night won't cut it and winds up reading a soon-to-be published Mode piece instead -- told in the first person by a pregnant writer who got in a bear fight. Somehow, Betty passes the grizzly story off as her own. But she almost gets Mode magazine sued (and her butt kicked by the actual author) in the process!
