Rebecca Says…

I so loved Palex, so it really pained me to see their relationship end. But at the same time, Alex definitely deserved to get the boot. Her making and breaking promises wasn't only obstructive, but it was downright rude! She was supposed to be supporting Paige, not tearing her down -- and certainly not trying to get her fired. Now, we understand that Alex didn't exactly see the merit in the fashion industry, but it's important that she back Paige if that's what her passion was. When it comes to relationships, you don't need to share every single interest with your significant other, but you do need to respect them and their pursuits (that is, unless they're doing something illegal or immoral). Plus, Alex was totally out of line when she barged in on Paige at work and made a scene in front of her boss. There are some places that have no space for lovers' quarrels, and work is one of 'em. Basically, if Degrassi hadn't used this story line, it could have been fodder for How To Lose A Girl In 10 Days.
