Nobody wants to think about themselves or their friends getting abused by their boyfriend or girlfriend. But the reality is, one in three teens report knowing a friend or peer who has been hit, punched, kicked, slapped, choked or physically hurt by their partner, according to a Liz Claiborne study on teen dating abuse. That's where Love Is Respect comes in. The organization has a National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline that offers a 24-hour telephone helpline and a website to address teen dating abuse. They've also established the Teen Dating Bill Of Rights. Unveiled last month on "It's Time To Talk Day," the digital petition is available to sign online; you can also add your own video statement about teen dating. America's Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez (a survivor of teen dating abuse) and The Bernie Mac Show star, Camille Winbush were on hand to highlight the need for teens to be educated about dating violence and to introduce Teen Dating Bill Of Rights campaign. Check what they had to say!
