We've all seen extensive footage of girl-on-girl kissing during MTV's annual Spring Break coverage. And it does seem to make the guys go wild, no? So if you're an attention-seeker, we can see how kissing your girlfriends at parties might appeal to you. "A person could be somewhat romantically or even somewhat sexually attracted to someone of their own sex without it meaning they have a gay or lesbian orientation," says Zimet.

But what if the kissing happens in a more intimate setting? "I think there's a fair amount of teenagers who experiment sexually, and a person's behavior doesn't necessarily determine their orientation," says Zimet. "But it's certainly, for some individuals, a way of discovering who they are."
