Girl Power

In 2005, women made up just 16 percent of all executive producers, directors, writers, cinematographers and editors. But Fresh Films and Stayfree's Girls in the Directors Chair program is trying to reverse that trend by giving girls college scholarship and opportunities to recruit and mentor other female filmmakers. And it's working! Last year's Fresh Films New York film crew was composed of seven guys and three girls; this year, the girls flipped the switch, taking up seven of the coveted spots.
