Don't Hate Me 'Cuz I'm Skinny

New York's Fashion Week just ended, but the debate over whether super skinny models should be banned from U.S. runways continues. Following the deaths of two anorexic models, fashion-show bosses in Europe have banned girls under a certain body mass index from working the shows. However, the Council of Fashion Designers of America has yet to issue a ban.

So what does supermodel Gisele have to say about all this? "Everybody knows that the norm in fashion is thin," she told O Globo newspaper. "But excuse me, there are people born with the right genes for this profession. I never suffered from this problem [anorexia] because I had a very strong family base. Parents are responsible, not the fashion industry." Gisele added that, as a child she was teased for being too skinny: "In fashion I felt accepted," she says. "I never felt lonely because I always relied on my family."

What do you think? Is Gisele right or wrong? Sound off now!
