"My BFFs are in a major fight, and I don't know which side to pick."
You Said:
"My BFFs are in a major fight and I'm totally caught in the middle. Here's what happened...my one friend Molly wanted to go to prom with her crush, and our other friend Jen knew this. BUT Jen went and asked him first! She said since it's so close to prom, she figured that Molly didn't want to take him anymore. Now it's complete drama. Ugh, who's side should I be on?"
We Say:
We're tempted to tell Molly, "you snooze, you lose." It's about a minute until prom and she still hadn't asked her crush! What was she waiting for? Even though we think she should have tied up this major prom detail weeks ago, she's still not the one to blame here.
The girlfriend code of conduct clearly states that when one friend calls dibs on a prom date, another BFF cannot swoop in and snag the guy. If Jen already knew about Molly's plans to eventually ask her crush, then she should never have snagged him first. If Jen was desperate for a date, she at least should've asked before she pounced.
We think you should stick by Molly's side and help her find a new, fun date to bring. But try to help patch things up between the girls pre-prom. The last thing you want is a night full of drama!
