I started IMing with this one guy Dave from his school a lot and we totally hit it off. Dave asked my friend to set us up, but Jeff got really weirded out about it. He thinks it's bizarre that I have a crush on some guy I've never met. Is it strange that I want to meet him?"

We Say:
If you were in some random chat room, and wanted to meet with this guy, then we'd freak out and yell, "Stranger Danger!" But, Jeff and Dave are friends, so we think you're safe from a scary Lifetime movie ending.

You should know that wanting to hang out with Dave is not weird at all! You guys have an online connection and want to see if you'd click in real life, too. We definitely get it. Our theory about why Jeff is being a punk about it? He likes you. Shocker! Makes sense though, right? He wants to discourage you from hanging out with this newfound chat buddy (and possible crush), and he's trying to freak you out about it.

Now, unless you've been harboring BGF feelings for Jeff all this time, let him down easy, and keep him out of the loop when it comes to Dave. Take the meet up into your own hands and suggest a place to hang out. (P.S.: Just in case he is a weirdo stalker chat buddy, we advise getting together in a public place. Hey, you never know when things can turn a little Lifetime on you!)
