"Is my boyfriend cheating on me with his ex?"

"A while ago, I called my boyfriend and there was another girl's voice in the background! He told me it was his ex, Sadie, but I just ignored it. Then last week, he mentioned how much fun he had with Sadie the night before. When I asked, "Oh, who else was there?" he said "No one, it was just us." I got really mad. IDK if he's cheating on me or not??"

We Say:
Well, we have some bad news. This guy's either (a) completely clueless, or (b) a dirty cheater. If he's downright dumb, and just doesn't realize that hanging out with his ex unannounced and unsupervised will make you angry, then there's a chance for reform. Your first order of business is to let him know that hanging out solo with Sadie is shady. If there's really nothing going on, he'll apologize and confirm that zero's happening between them. If he truly is in category (a), then your guy will shape up once he knows you're nervous.

However, if your guy is a (b) man, then he'll get totally defensive when you bring Sadie up. He might even accuse you of cheating! (A loser guy we dated actually tried this tactic. Note: he's dumped.) If he won't tell you about Sadie "dates" and completely ignores your discomfort, then he's not someone you want to be with anyway, right? He may or may not be cheating, but this guy's definitely got something to hide.
