We Say:
Riley needs to grow up. It's great that you are trying to protect his feelings, but at some point he needs to stop being a baby and realize that you're not interested in dating him right now. He might be upset that you're hooking up with his friend, but that's the way things go. What if the tables were turned, and he liked your BFF and not you? He'd expect some understanding.

Even though we think Riley needs to buck up and deal, you still need to remember he's a good friend. You don't want to lose him, so a little bit of sensitivity is a-OK. Try to keep the Mike P.D.A. to a minimum around him, and explain to Riley how important he is to you�as a friend.
