"Should I go for my BFF's crush?"
You Said:
"So, my friend has this crush on a boy named Matty. Well he seemed to liked her, but he really doesn't -- I get the feeling he likes me! My friend's starting to suspect it, too, but she keeps talking about how much she likes him. Every time they hang out, Matty always invites me. Of course, I turn him down, but then he gets upset. Should I tell my friend her suspicions are right? Or do I keep telling her that they're great together, when I know he's really into me?"
We Say:
Sticky situation. If you tell your friend the full on truth, she'll think you're trying to steal her crush away. (Which you're not, right? Right? Good.) Hooking up with a friend's crush is a no-no in BFF land, lady.
First, lose the "you guys are great together" act immediately, and start dropping hints that he's just not the one. If she's slow to catch on to her crush's wandering eye, introduce her to another guy that's more her type. Since she's still in the crush stage with Matty, she might easily move onto another dude that'll really appreciate her. Helping her to find someone else, without rubbing in the whole, "Matty liked me better" thing, will grab you best friend points for sure.
