"This guy I met on the Internet keeps asking to hang out."

You Said:
"Two months ago, this guy left me a comment on my online profile, and we started chatting. He lives three towns over, and we've never met, but he calls me his girlfriend. He keeps asking to meet up. The guy's really cute in his pics, but I'm not sure if I want to actually get together. Should I do it?"

We Say:
Uhh, this kid seems a little sketchy. Why is he calling you his girlfriend if you haven't even met or dated? Don't you think that's weird? We feel like this is a bad episode of "To Catch a Predator" on Dateline.

Something in your gut is telling you not to meet this guy -- we like what your gut is saying. Don't get us wrong, we're all for creating an online community, connecting with people, yatta yatta yatta, but there are a lot of randoms out there just waiting for the opportunity to take advantage offline.

He could totally be a nice, normal guy, but you never know. If you do decide to get together, do it in a very public space with a friend. Don't have him come to your house, and definitely tell your parents the plan. Be careful, girlie!
