"Holidays are hell at my house."

"Every time my entire extended family gets together for a holiday, the afternoon always ends in a major blow-up. Happy family reunion it is definitely not. There has been political debate drama, old family issues dredged up, fights over better recipes -- you name it, these crazies argue about it. How do I get everyone to maintain this Thanksgiving?"

One way to solve this problem? Tell everyone to stay home. Seriously.

You can try to keep the peace, but it�s not within your power to control how people act. Tell your parents that you can�t take another holiday with relatives at each other�s throats. It doesn�t really scream holiday cheer. Hopefully your �rents will understand.

Not including the relative offenders may seem like an anti-Thanksgiving kind of move, but it might give them a much-needed wake up call. Have your parents explain to cranky Uncle Colin and nasty Nanna that your fam needed a break from the usual drama. Next year, you�ll invite everyone again if they promise to try and remain calm and collected.
