"I feel like I'm never gonna have a BF!"

You Said:
"All of my friends have BFs, but I'm always single. I've been in relationships in the past, but I feel like I'm totally behind everyone when it comes to dating. Just hooking up with guys at parties isn't cutting it for me -- I want to have a BF to spend time with. Dances, movies, and parties aren't half as fun because all my friends are coupled off. I know what kind of guy I want, but I can't seem to find him. Everyone says I should be patient and that I'll find someone when I stop searching, that it'll happen when I'm least expecting it, but that seems like BS. Am I gonna be single forever?!?"

We Say:
No, silly -- you won't be single forever. It's like your Mom said when you were growing boobs -- everyone develops at different times, and you can't rush nature. While it's frustrating to be single around a group of couples, you can totally use the sitch to your advantage. Ask your friends' BFs to introduce you to their single friends. But it's important to remember to keep an open mind. A great guy could be right behind you in study hall, but you can't expect him to be everything you've whipped up in your dreams. (Sure, a Jesse McCartney-lookalike who plays guitar, gets straight As, makes you laugh, and starts on the Varsity soccer team would be awesome, but what's the likelihood of that happening?) You may end up hitting it off with someone you'd never expect! Most importantly, enjoy being single and all its perks, like being able to flirt with any guy you want. Like anything else, dating takes practice, so the more guys you meet, the better off you'll be in the end because you'll be able to figure out what you really want and need in a BF. The truth is, why settle? You're worth more than that.
