"My locker partner stinks!"

"OK, so I go to this really small school, and we share lockers, and my locker partner doesn't smell too great. I tried to ignore it last year, but she leaves her gym clothes in there and then all my stuff started to reek, too! With the new school year starting in a few weeks, I want to make sure I get a fresh start -- literally!"

We Say:
OK, so you have a stinky buddy. At your age, hormones do crazy things, so it's not really weird that she's having these issues. But it is a little strange that she doesn't notice them, too! So, how can you be kind without being totally cruel? Skip the extra strength Febreze fest and just tell her (nicely) that you've noticed that she's been having some issues with her deodorant and that you know some really good ones that she might be into. With any luck, she'll take the hint, slap some on ASAP, and your new school year will be like a breath of fresh air.
