Moving On Up

Manhattan job: Check. Manhattan apartment: Not so much.

Enter West Orange, New Jersey -- my third home in almost four months. Somehow between searching for a city apartment and having the longest commute to work ever, my friends convinced me to move to Jersey. The commute may be shorter, but what's so darn special about Jersey? (I'm straight outta Boston -- there's no way I could live in a state where almost everyone supports the Jets/Nets/Mets!) That's me with some of the West Orange High School Cheerleaders.

Hesitation aside, I packed up my friend Emily's Neon, and moved to the Garden State. As you can see, I've given up on unpacking, so I've been living out of trash bags, hampers, and crates. But I have to say that even though it's suburban, Jersey hasn't been so bad to me. The beaches have been amazing! I still don't know why they call it "The Shore" -- it's a beach, people, all coastal states have 'em! That's Em and I being beach bums at Seaside -- it got kinda windy that day.

Jersey has been great (yeah, I said it), but I'll be moving again. In two weeks, I'll pack up for the last time and move into my new Upper East Side apartment. The search has been long and the three moves have been stressful, but I'll finally have a place of my own. My next mission? Trying to cram 21 years of crap into my new abode.
