East Meets West

They say you can take the girl out of the Midwest, but you can't take the Midwest out of the girl. I'm not so sure about that. Cuz ever since I moved to NYC from Michigan, I can't get New York outta my system! I realized my addiction to "the city that never sleeps" during my recent V/K in Cali -- even though I'd cursed the crowded streets of NYC, I missed them! Still, being on vacation (obviously) has its perks. Here are just a few:

1. It's not the same old thing. In New York, I sometimes get sidewalk rage. I'm at my worst when I have to plow through a crowd 25-deep just to make it across the street. Okay, so I admit that, in L.A., things were no different. (I plowed through a crowd of kids to get the shot of me with the White Rabbit). But hey -- at least I was in Disneyland, and not on my lunch break!

2. You can act like a tourist. Well, truth be told, I always act like a tourist, and I've lived in New York for four years. Nope, I'm not afraid to ask for directions -- NYC can get confusing! Having friends and relatives in L.A., I'm no stranger there, either. But that didn't stop me from having my picture snapped outside celeb hangout Urth Café (in the middle of the street).

You Say!
