Rebecca takes on L.A.
Aug 28, 2006
I've always been a New York girl. (OK -- I grew up in Jersey, but that's beside the point.) To me, a city's not a "real" city unless you don't have to drive to get around. So when I got the chance to go to L.A. to cover the Teen Choice Awards, I was psyched for the event, but not so psyched for the location. (Death Cab for Cutie got it right in "Why You'd Want to Live Here": "It's a lovely summer's day/And I can almost see a skyline through a thickening shroud of egos/Is this the city of angels or demons?") But after spending a long weekend in L.A., I kinda get it.
On Saturday morning, I hit up a Fox junket, where I got to hang with the incredibly mature, Willa Holland (aka Kaitlin Cooper from The O.C..) She's a complete doll! This was the second time I've interviewed her, and she totally remembered talking to me so many months ago. I also saw Ron Livingston and Wentworth Miller there -- such hotties!
After the junket, I met up with celeb blogger Perez Hilton as he got his hair done at B2V in West Hollywood. Seriously, that guy is freakin' hilarious! (Check out his fabulous new 'do when he hosts a style show for the MTV Video Music Awards next week.)
