"I was a clumsy mess on graduation day!"

On the day of my graduation, I was so incredibly nervous that my knees kept going weak. I tried calming myself down with some deep breathing and relaxation exercises. It worked for the most part. I felt slightly less nervous and could stand up without feeling like I was going to fall to the floor. I lined up with the other graduates and prepared to walk across the stage. As I climbed up the stairs to the stage, I could feel my anxiety coming back. My chest tightened and my knees began to feel weak again, and I had a huge knot in the pit of my stomach. As I reached the top of the steps I tripped. I fell face forward into the floor. It was mortifying! Luckily nobody in the audience was able to see me fall. But I could hear everyone behind me chuckle. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of my clumsiness for the day. As I crossed the stage to receive my diploma, I tripped on my gown and almost knocked my principal off of her feet. When I stood back up, everyone in my graduating class was laughing. That was the worst day ever! Even now when I see any of my friends, they still poke fun at me and pull out the videotape and pictures.
