"She didn't judge me, when my other friends did!"
Last summer at my neighbor's high school graduation party, I flirted with this guy for most of the night. I didn't really think much of it 'cause he was three years older than me, and I doubted anything would happen. It turns out that he did, and we had a summer fling. We hung out a few times and fooled around a bit. I told a few of my friends about it, and they got pissed at me. They thought it was really wrong for me to get involved with a guy who was so much older than me. During the whole thing, only one friend, Jess, was there for me and didn't judge me for what I was doing. She didn't like the fact that he was so much older, but she said she would still support me in whatever decision I made. Eventually, the guy asked me out, but I said no 'cause I didn't like the idea of my friends disapproving of my BF. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't go out with him, and I still sorta regret getting involved in the first place. But I'm really grateful that I had one friend who didn't turn on me. We've been BFF for 12 years now, and unlike my other friends, she won't bring me down.
