"She saved me from a scary dog!"

Last winter, my friend Ann came with me to my family's mountain house for the weekend. It had just snowed, so Ann and I went outside to play. My next-door neighbor’s dog came over to us and Ann started petting him, so I wanted to pet him, too. As I walked over to the pooch, the dog started growling and barking at me. I was so scared! I started running towards the house, the dog started to chase me. Then, I slipped down on an icy step and fell down. When I looked back, the dog started snarling and climbing on top of me. I thought the dog was going to bite my head off right then and there. But then, Ann whistled at the dog to get its attention, and the dog turned and looked at her. She found a stick, threw it really far, and egged the dog to go and get it. Her plan worked -- the dog left me alone and ran away. Thanks to Ann's quick thinking, I got away without a scratch -- or a bite!
