"She made my Sweet Sixteen a success!"
My birthday is never a really big deal. I usually celebrate with my family and a few close friends. But this year I decided that I wanted to throw a huge Sweet Sixteen party. My parents agreed, and I started planning out a huge party with about 250 guests. But soon after, my dad lost his job, and we had to make major changes. Luckily, we were able to keep our house but we couldn't afford any extra expenses -- so my party was out. My parents felt really bad about it and I didn't want to make them feel worse so I would complain to my friends, especially my BFF. So when my birthday came around, my boyfriend was going to take me dancing with a few of our friends, and then we were going to dinner. I have to admit I was a little disappointed, but I decided it might be fun anyway and that I would try and make the best of it. When we pulled up to the club he just got out of the car as if everything was normal. When we opened the door to the club, at least 150 people jumped out screaming "Surprise!" I was so shocked! It wasn't my original theme, but it was still so awesome. Later, I figured out that everybody had pitched in a little, but my BFF was behind the whole thing. I am so lucky to have a friend like her.
