"She helped me get through my eating issue!"
When I went away to college, I was so lonely and lost. My self-confidence dropped, and I slowly started to develop an eating disorder. I often avoided talking to my best friend on the phone because I knew she would be able to tell that something was wrong from my voice. But even through AIM, she was could tell -- I couldn’t hide anything from her. As soon as I got home for fall break, she sat me down and made me talk to her. I wasn’t happy about it at the time, but she wouldn’t let me avoid her anymore. She helped me through things and never left my side. She didn’t judge me or pressure me into talking about it later. Thanks to her, I went to a therapist and I’m much better now. I am so lucky to have a best friend who can tell something is wrong, even through IM! We have been friends for 15 years, and I couldn’t ask for a better BFF.
