"She laughed about my dad being dead!"
My dad's birthday is on the same day as mine, and we always celebrated together, but he died on our birthday in 2003. (I was so sad!) After that, my friend always said I was being too sensitive because my dad and I weren't even that close. (We would have been closer, but my parents divorced when I was nine.) I thought she was being unfair, since my dad and I still hung out on our birthdays and saw each other every other weekend, but I didn't say anything to her. A few months ago, I celebrated my birthday. My friend's dad's birthday is the day after mine, and she called me and said, "My dad's taking me out to dinner and fishing for his birthday." I said that sounded cool, and then she said, "So what are you and your dad doing?" Then she laughed (loudly!) and said, "Wait, I forgot, you don't have a dad." OMG I got so mad, and she said I was being too sensitive and that I need to get over his death! I haven't forgiven her yet. Should I?
