"They surprised me on my 16th birthday!"

My 16th birthday was a week away, and I was getting frustrated at all my friends. I thought that they were keeping secrets from me because they kept pulling each other off to the side to whisper with one another. It was really getting on my nerves and making me a little sad. Then, they all told me that they weren't going to be able to hang out on my birthday because they were "grounded" or they had to "work." It wasn't until two days before my birthday that anyone even acknowledged that it was getting close to my big day. They asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and they said that they could hang out for a little while after school. We were all hanging out, and then we went back to one of their houses, and there was a surprise party for me! They even pitched in and got me an iPod! I was so excited! I have the greatest friends ever -- I love them so much.
