"She shoplifted and got me in trouble!"
My BFF and I went shopping together, but as we were leaving the store, two cops stopped us. They said they'd caught my friend shoplifting, and because I was with her, I was in trouble, too! The cops took us to a small room in the back of the store, and told my friend she'd go to jail if we didn't give them the stuff "we" took. She denied stealing anything and tried to sweet talk her way out of it, but they didn't believe her because they saw her pocketing store merchandise on a camera. She swore to me that she didn't take anything, and I believed her. But just as the cops were about to take us down to the police station, my BFF bent down to tie her shoe, and the stuff she denied taking fell out! It turns out she took a $3 bracelet and a $4 belly-button ring. (Was it really worth it?) The cops let me go and took my BFF down to the police station, where her parents had to pay a really expensive fine. I'm still banned from that store because of what my "friend" did. I can't believe I stood up for her when she lied to my face and almost got us both in trouble.
