"She got with my crush -- and never told me!"
When we started high school, my BFF and I were inseparable – we had gone to daycare and elementary school together, and I could barely remember a time without her. Once classes began, a cute sophomore began flirting with me, but I wasn’t interested in going out with him. Several months later, I found out that he had been spending a lot of time with my BFF so that he could learn more about me. Even though I hadn’t given much thought to dating him, I was impressed by his persistence –- my interests were sparked! I loved the attention that I was getting from him, and when I told my BFF that I wanted to date him, she told me to go for it. But the school year ended before I got my chance. To make things worse, my BFF was growing distant with me, and I saw less and less of her throughout the summer. It wasn’t until after the summer that I found out that my BFF and my crush were dating! I tried to forget about it, but my ex-crush would still flit with me. My "best friend" obviously felt threatened by me, so she started spreading nasty rumors about me and constantly tried to embarrass me in front of our other friends. I couldn’t believe that she would let our friendship fall apart over some guy –- now I know that I’m better off without her!
