Step 1:

Prep hair by using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Comb a leave-in conditioner through damp hair, followed by a volume-enhancing spray gel.

Step 2:

Flip head over, and blow-dry hair until nearly dry. Separate bangs or the front section of your hair. Then use medium rollers to create lift and curl on the sides and back areas.

Step 3:

While waiting for your curls to set, use a medium-barrel curling iron or flat iron to create sideswept hair or bangs in front. Once you've achieved the sideswept look you want, pin hair behind your hair and let it cool and set.

Step 4:

Once removing your curlers, lightly brush through for Gwen's waves. Rub a dollop of texturizing mousse between your hands and scrunch hair for a voluminous, "messy" appearance.
