Step 1:

Wash and condition your hair with a sleeky shampoo and conditioner that will smooth your hair cuticles (no volumizing formulas!).

Step 2:

Blow-dry your hair straight, paying extra close attention to the hair around the crown of your head. When drying this area, blowdry under the roots at an upward angle using a round brush.

Step 3:

Ditch the brush and run a texturizing mousse through your strands with your fingers, pushing your hair back from your forehead as you do so. Fasten a hair band at the nape of your neck, slightly off-center.
