What was the process for defining each character's style?
I took from a lot of different venues. I went to New York for Fashion Week, which I'm actually doing again in a couple of weeks. So there were a lot of things that were right off the runway. As far as colors, Sharpay, for instance, is wearing cobalt blue in this. We put her in fuchsia instead of the bubble gum pink because that's gonna be hotter this season. She's wearing a lot of metallic. Ryan, Lucas Grabeel's character, is really right off the runway. He's wearing a lot of military stripes on the sides of his pants, tucked into police boots, and all kinds of crazy things like that. I also pulled from things around the world. Lucas' character for prom is wearing a bowler hat and that's what's going off in Spain right now. I pulled things from Manga. Manga is huge right now in Japan. That's where I got the idea for the Wildcat hoodies -- the basketball warm-up suits where you see the wildcats on either side.
