Fashionista: Takhmina A.

Hometown:  Kazakhstan.

When we ran into Takhmina on the campus of New York's Fashion Institute of Design & Technology, we were sure she was a student! But as it turned out, this stylish fashionista was just visiting. Whatev -- she totally fooled us. So what exactly was this girl from Kazakhstan doing in the middle of NYC? Keep reading for deets!

What brings you to New York?
I just came from English class. I came to study English in the U.S., and I take Embassy CES classes. I arrived three weeks ago from Los Angeles. This is my first time in New York. I'm just here on vacation and studying.

So you're really not a fashion design student?
No, but I'm interested in art and design. I study management in my country. But in a couple years I'd like to take courses in fashion design here or in England.

What are your fave things to wear?
I like bracelets, rings, and earrings. But today I'm just wearing this bracelet because I slept until 9 -- and I had a test at 9! So I was running like crazy. Normally, I'd like as long as possible to get ready. At least a half hour.

Is there any celeb whose style you particularly like?
Charlize Theron. She doesn't wear a lot of make-up or dress-up too much. She's fashionable, but it's [understated]. It's a quiet kind of fashion.
