Polka-Dot Headband

Rule number one of curly hair: Don't wash your hair every day! Rule number two? Wear a headband. Headbands have always been helpful tools for taming my hair. But for a while, the look was out of style and relegated to gym wear (boo!). Thank goodness headbands are back! These days, I particularly love the Serena Headband ($8.50, delias.com). It comes in your basic black (goes with everything!). But it also comes in chic, striped and polka dot incarnations. Just sliding one on turns my untamed bed head into an unbelievably cute 'do in three seconds flat.

Perfumed Shampoo & Shower Gel

Despite everyone and their Mom switching over to shower gel a gazillion years ago, I stuck with my trusty bar soap. Even my brother was into his "manly" poof sponge and liquid lather long before I gave in. Now, however, I'm hooked on Philosophy's Amazing Grace Shampoo, Shower, and Bath Gel ($22, sephora.com). Why? It cleans well -- and it smells great. So great, in fact, that I've given up wearing perfume altogether! Sure, it's a bit of a splurge. But for me, it's worth it! Cuz in addition to being soap 'n' perfume, it also serves as shampoo.
