Hilary Duff & Joel Madden

After two years together, Hil and Joel called it quits in November 2006. In an interview with CosmoGirl! magazine, Hilary said she was the one to break things off. "All that stuff about the age difference between us being the reason we broke up is just not true; I never felt the age difference. Breaking up was just something that I felt needed to happen between us," she explained. However, despite the break-up being her choice, Hil wasn't too happy when Joel started seeing his current GF, Nicole Richie. Fortunately though, things worked out best for everyone: Nic and Joel are happy new parents, and Hilary found love with hockey player BF Mike Comrie.
