"I've always had a BF -- I was that girl in high school who never went out with the girls because I was always with my BF. This is my first year of my whole life that I've ever been single! It was scary at first because I've never been alone, but now I'm stoked that I took that step to single-dom, [and that I've gotten] to know myself better. I love being able to go anywhere and not have to check in with someone and tell them where I am all the time. My cell phone bill is cheaper, and I eat out less. I seriously don't miss getting into fights and arguing about stupid things. I don't have to stress out about who I'm hanging out with or talking to, or having to assure a jealous boyfriend that so-and-so is just a friend. I am way more available to spend better quality time with my own family and my own friends. For me, it's great to be single right now because I'm working and traveling a lot, and it's easy to pick up and go and not leave someone behind.
I'm not anti-relationships. I just want to make sure I am a solid and healthy woman -- emotionally and spiritually. I don't want to give my future husband emotional baggage and immature issues as a wedding gift! I can't wait to have a deep and committed relationship, but right now it's cool to be young and single because unlike marriage, it doesn't last forever."
